Abia Governor Otti Affirms Labour Party Membership Amid Political Speculations

Abia State Governor Otti has reiterated his allegiance to the Labour Party amid swirling speculations of defections in Nigerian politics. During a media parley in Umuahia, Otti addressed questions about leadership crises within the party, emphasizing his support for the party's recognized leadership.

The governor left open the possibility of future political moves but affirmed his current affiliation. This statement comes amidst heightened political realignments in the country, with two governors recently defecting to the APC.

Otti's faction within the Labour Party, led by Nenadi Usman, recently secured a legal victory in the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court declared Usman's faction as the authentic leadership of the party, ordering INEC to recognize them as the official representatives of the Labour Party.

In contrast, Juliu Abur's faction, which led the party's internal dispute, rejected the court's ruling and vowed to challenge it in the appellate court.
