Nollywood Actor Solomon Akiyesi Passes Away at Home

Solomon Akiyesi, a prominent Nollywood actor, reportedly died in his sleep on Sunday night, as confirmed by Abubakar Yakubu, the president of the Actor Guild Nigeria, on Monday. The late actor's body has been deposited at a morgue in Abuja.

Akiyesi hailed from Ososo in the Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, where he completed his early education before proceeding to the University of Ibadan for tertiary studies. Throughout his career, he worked as an actor, producer, and director, featuring in several films including "Deadly Affair" (1995), "Olaedo" (Fisher Girl 2, 2015), and "Gen Z Wife" (2024).

He made headlines in 2013 when he married his second wife, Uloma Agwu, in a ceremony that disrupted the Overcom Church World Outreach, as his first wife, Lilian, claimed legal marriage. The incident led to police involvement, but the order to restore the venue was later issued, and Akiyesi subsequently apologized for the disruption.
