Nongu vows to rebuild, return Lobi Stars to NPFL

Makurdi Nongu, a journalist turned Lobi Stars FC chairman, has vowed to rebuild and return the club to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). Nongu highlighted the challenges faced during the previous season, including poor results, internal sabotage, and external pressures.

He disclosed that the board has taken control of the club, inheriting a squad from the previous management. Nongu, who also serves as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports Creativity, addressed issues such as salary arrears owed to players and staff, which have now been cleared.

He acknowledged past mistakes but maintained that relegation will serve as a stepping stone for progress. Nongu emphasized the importance of revamping the technical team, scouting talented young players, and building a performance-based structure.

He expressed confidence in returning Lobi Stars to the NPFL stronger and better structured, assuring fans and stakeholders of a united effort towards this goal.
