FCTA Workers Resume Duties After Court Halts Strike Action

Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have returned to work after a court ruling stopped their strike action. The strike, organized by the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), was suspended following an order from the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.

The court directive, issued by Justice D. Subilim, mandated the workers to cease the strike and engage in dialogue.

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, emphasized the importance of respecting the court order and urged workers to resume their duties promptly. In compliance with the court ruling, the Head of Civil Service of the FCT, Nancy Sabanti, issued a circular directing all secretariats, departments, and agencies under the FCTA to ensure immediate resumption of work by staff.

This move reaffirmed the administration's commitment to staff welfare. On Wednesday, workers were seen back at their offices carrying out their official duties, signaling a return to normalcy.
