Northern Governors Mourn Bamanga Tukur's Passing

Muhammadu Yahaya, the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bamanga Tukur, who passed away in Abuja on Saturday. Tukur, known as Tafidan Adamawa, was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, having served as the Governor of the old Gongola State, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority, and Minister of Industries.

Yahaya, through a condolence message issued by Ismaila Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs at Gombe Government House, described Tukur's death as a significant loss for both the North and Nigeria. He noted Tukur's extensive public service career spanning over six decades, highlighting his contributions to economic development in Africa through the Africa Business Roundtable and the NEPAD Business Group.

Tukur also led the Peoples Democratic Party as National Chairman from 2012 to 2014. Yahaya extended condolences to the government and people of Adamawa State, Tukur's family, friends, and associates, praying for Tukur's forgiveness and eternal peace.
