Sultan of Sokoto Condoles with Tukur's Family at 90

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, extended his condolences to the family of Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, who died at the age of 90. In a condolence message issued on Sunday and signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka, the Sultan described Tukur's death as a significant loss to his family, Adamawa State, and Nigeria.

He acknowledged Tukur's extensive involvement in public service, business, and politics, noting his roles as the Governor of the defunct Gongola State, Minister of Transportation, and National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Sultan emphasized Tukur's status as a prominent elder statesman and urged his family, friends, and associates to find comfort in his legacy.

He also commiserated with the Adamawa State Government and its people, praying for strength for the bereaved and forgiveness for Tukur's shortcomings.
