Northern Governors Mourn the Passing of Bamanga Tukur

Northern Governors, represented by Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State and Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors Forum (NNGF), expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bamanga Tukur. In a condolence message issued through his spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Yahaya described Tukur's death as a significant loss to both the North and Nigeria as a whole.

He highlighted Tukur's extensive public service career, which spanned over six decades, during which he held several key positions, including Chief Executive of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Governor of the old Gongola State, and Minister of Industries. Yahaya acknowledged Tukur's contributions to Africa's economic development through organizations such as the Africa Business Roundtable and the NEPAD Business Group, as well as his leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) as National Chairman from 2012 to 2014.

He emphasized Tukur's vast experience and commitment to public service, stating that his legacy would remain a part of Nigeria's history. Yahaya extended condolences to the government and people of Adamawa State, Tukur's family, and associates, praying for Tukur's eternal peace.
