Northern Groups Demand Action for Borno Pupils' Rescue

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) praised the successful rescue of school children abducted in Oyo State, describing it as a significant achievement. In a statement issued on Sunday, coordinated by Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, the group called for similar urgent actions to secure the release of pupils kidnapped in Borno State.

They highlighted the importance of intelligence-driven operations and inter-agency collaboration in achieving these results. The CNG expressed deep concern for the ongoing abductions in Borno, where many children remain captive, and insisted that every Nigerian child deserves equal protection regardless of their geographical, ethnic, or social status.

They urged the federal government and security agencies to prioritize the safety of educational institutions and enhance intelligence gathering to prevent further attacks. The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the release of all kidnapped individuals, emphasizing that the rescue of the Oyo school children should not be viewed in isolation but as part of a broader effort to combat insecurity in Nigeria.
