Yoruba Group Praises Rescue of Oyo Abducted Pupils

A pro-Yoruba group, led by Tajudeen Olusi, commended the rescue of pupils and teachers abducted from a school in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State. The group issued a statement through its secretary, Bayo Aina, on Tuesday, describing the rescue operation as a reflection of the effective work of Nigerian security agencies, including the Amotekun Corps and the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The operation successfully freed the captives after 54 days without any ransom paid, showcasing the capabilities of the military in ensuring the safety of citizens amid escalating banditry across the nation. The group expressed pride in the military's efforts and commended President Bola Tinubu's leadership qualities.

They also mourned the loss of a teacher, Michael Oyedokun, and an army officer, Lt. Felix Isaac, during the operation, urging the federal government to investigate the involvement of foreign elements in various crimes across the country.
