Northern Youths Challenge El-Rufai's Oath Amid Corruption Claims

The Northern Youth Alliance has publicly challenged former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai's recent oath, taken on the Quran, in which he denied allegations of corruption during his tenure from 2015 to 2023. The group, led by Secretary General Lawal Hamisu Jankasa, described the oath as an attempt to mislead the public amid ongoing legal proceedings.

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) is investigating El-Rufai for allegedly receiving N289,826,998.12, which far exceeds his legitimate entitlement of N20,013,245.00, indicating a potential misuse of public funds. The ICPC's investigation has revealed that El-Rufai knowingly received funds as part of a corrupt scheme, violating the Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Act of 2022.

Additional allegations include suspicious deposits in his accounts and conspiracy to conceal the origin of funds. The Northern Youth Alliance has called for vigilance among citizens and emphasized the need for accountability and justice in the face of these serious allegations.
