NPFL Mourns El-Kanemi Warriors Chairman's Passing

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) mourned the passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Maina Mustapha, the Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors FC, who died on February 24 at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital after a prolonged illness. Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, the NPFL Chairman, described the loss as a significant blow to the club and the football community in Nigeria.

He expressed condolences to the club and emphasized the late chairman's support for NPFL initiatives aimed at mobilizing fans for home matches and promoting fair play and violence-free matchdays. Elegbeleye noted that Alhaji Maina Mustapha was a peaceful person dedicated to ensuring the success of the club, particularly within the NPFL.

The NPFL and its member clubs expressed their sadness over the loss and extended prayers for peace for the deceased's soul and comfort for the family he left behind.
