Nasarawa United Coach Laments Defeat to Barau FC

Nasarawa United head coach Mbwas Mangut lamented his team's 3-1 defeat to Barau FC during their opening match of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday evening. The match featured an entertaining first half where both teams scored once.

However, Barau FC secured victory by scoring two additional goals in the closing stages, with contributions from Al’Amin Umar and Suga Aliyu. Mangut stated that his team performed better but was unlucky not to convert numerous scoring opportunities.

He acknowledged that the defeat was not an ideal start to the new season but expressed confidence in analyzing their mistakes, regrouping, and aiming for a stronger performance in their next match against Bendel Insurance at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
