NRFF Launches Grassroots Rugby Course in Ogun State

The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has initiated a grassroots rugby coaching and medical course in Ogun State, which commenced today and will run until Saturday. This program is part of efforts to strengthen grassroots development in rugby, organized in partnership with the Ogun State Rugby Association.

Tunde Delu, the NRFF's Chief Operating Officer, stated that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to building a robust rugby structure at the grassroots level. The course aims to equip coaches and medical personnel with the necessary knowledge and standards, focusing on player safety, coaching techniques, and athlete management.

Participants will work towards Level 1 certification, with the program designed to create a sustainable structure aligned with global best practices. The NRFF announced that this course will also prepare for an upcoming initiative by World Rugby later this year, which aims to enhance local educational capacity to support rugby development in Nigeria.
