NSC and Edo FA Adopt Kadiri Ikhana Football Academy

The Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC) and the Edo State Football Association (FA) have initiated a partnership to adopt the Kadiri Ikhana Football Academy (KIFA) model, aimed at developing football academies across the country. This decision was announced during the official launch of the academy in Auchi on Saturday.

NSC Director Bukola Olopade represented the commission, assuring that the NSC would support the project, which is designed to nurture and motivate young football talents. The academy, named after Kadiri Ikhana, a notable figure in Nigerian football who was the first coach to win the CAF Champions League with Enyimba Aba and a member of the 1980 Green Eagles, will combine academic education with football training.

Fred Newton, the chairman of the Edo State FA, expressed confidence in the academy's potential impact on youth in Edo State, emphasizing the importance of serious academic commitment alongside football training.
