Samson Adamu Appointed Acting General Secretary of CAF

Samson Adamu has been appointed as the Acting General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), marking a historic moment as it is the first time in seven decades that a Nigerian holds this exalted position within the continent's football governance body. The National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, expressed pride in Adamu's appointment, viewing it as a testament to Nigeria's growing influence in global sports administration.

Dikko emphasized that Adamu's track record within CAF speaks volumes about his capabilities and the trust placed in him to represent Nigeria effectively. Hon Bukola Olopad, the Director General of the NSC, also commended Adamu's deserved appointment, noting his professional capacity and deep understanding of football administration.

Adamu, son of renowned sports administrator Dr. Amo Adamu, brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as CAF's Director of Tournament and Event.

He succeeds Veron Mosengo Omba, who retired, ensuring a smooth transition in leadership.
