Nigeria Handball Teams Celebrated After Togo Triumph

The National Sports Commission (NSC), represented by Director General Bukola Olopade, welcomed Nigeria's U18 and U20 handball teams following their triumph at the IHF Trophy Zone 3 held in Lome, Togo. This victory is seen as a renewal of confidence in the country's male athletes.

Olopade received the teams in Abuja on Monday, emphasizing the significance of their performance in Togo and the progress of handball as a sport deserving of support from the private sector. He noted the recent successes of female athletes on the international stage and expressed optimism that the male teams could achieve similar success.

The NSC's commitment to supporting the Nigeria Handball Federation, led by President Jibril Saidu, was reiterated, with assurances of adequate support for the upcoming continental championship in 2026. Saidu thanked the NSC for its leadership and support, reinforcing the federation's goal to excel in future tournaments.
