Tinubu Reappoints Ahmed Audi as NSCDC Chief for 5 Years

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reappointed Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi as the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for an additional five-year term, which will take effect on February 27, 2026.

This renewal of Audi's mandate was announced by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga and signifies the administration's commitment to enhancing national security, particularly in addressing issues such as banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism. Dr.

Audi, who was first appointed to this position by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021, participated actively in the commemoration of the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the NSCDC national headquarters in Abuja. Born on September 30, 1967, in Laminga town, Nasarawa Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Audi has an extensive educational background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Health Education, a Master’s degree in Public Administration, and a PhD in Public Administration.

He joined the NSCDC in November 1996 and has served in various capacities since then.
