NSCDC Arrests 16 Suspects in Major Crime Operation

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested 16 suspects in a significant crime prevention operation. The operation was coordinated by the Commandant General's Special Intelligence Squad in collaboration with the NSCDC Kano State Command.

The arrests took place at the BUA Cement Company in Okpella, Etsako East LGA, Edo State. Among those arrested was Abba Lawan Garkuwa, who was involved in a scheme to obtain $600,000 through false pretenses, leading to a fraudulent transfer of 8 million naira.

Other suspects included Usman Muazu Tanturu, linked to a large trade in counterfeit currency, and Sulaiman Mallam Uba, who was arrested with six brand new local fabric rifles. Additionally, Kaumi Alhaji Kadau was apprehended for running an illegal arms manufacturing factory in Yobe State.

The operation reflects the NSCDC's commitment to tackling economic sabotage and security threats, with ongoing investigations to identify sponsors of these criminal activities.
