NSCDC Arrests Three for N7m Internet Fraud in Edo

The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested three suspects—Peter Odion (21), Anthony Ernest (20), and Destiny Saturday (20)—for allegedly defrauding a Nigerian resident in Italy of N7 million. The suspects, from Ebele in Igueben Local Government Area, reportedly used a female photograph to contact the victim on Facebook.

Destiny Saturday posed as a female native doctor, claiming to possess spiritual powers to make the victim wealthy. Convinced by these claims, the victim made several payments to Destiny for supposed spiritual services before realizing he had been scammed.

Following the incident, Barrister Oni Isibor filed a petition with the NSCDC on behalf of the victim, prompting an investigation. Utilizing advanced technology and intelligence-driven tracking, NSCDC operatives successfully traced and apprehended the suspects, who have reportedly confessed to the crime and will face charges in court upon completion of the investigation.
