Police Arrest Man for ₦3 Billion Cyber Fraud Scheme

Adelek Hafe was apprehended by the Police Special Fraud Unit following extensive investigations into a sophisticated cyber fraud scheme involving ₦3 billion. The police described the cyber intrusion as involving unauthorized access to databases of financial institutions, which enabled the initiation of fraudulent transactions.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the alleged fraud rapidly moved through multiple bank accounts in a deliberate attempt to conceal the origins of the funds. The police deployed advanced digital forensic tools and financial intelligence techniques to trace the illicit transactions and identify members of the syndicate.

The investigation, led by DSP Ovi Kenneth Ewhubar, recovered crucial digital evidence to aid prosecution. CP Eloho Edwin Okpoiakpo commended the investigative team for their professionalism and resilience in unraveling the alleged cyber fraud.

The police assured the public of their commitment to combating cybercrime and intensifying efforts to apprehend other members of the syndicate believed to be part of a larger cybercrime network.
