NSCDC Arrests Scrap Dealer for Stolen Electric Cables

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested Muhd Adamu, a 50-year-old scrap dealer from Maruwa Town in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Jigawa State. The arrest occurred following intelligence reports linking him to the illegal possession of electric cables.

During the operation, NSCDC personnel recovered 267 meters of aluminum cables, which are estimated to be worth N573,300. Preliminary investigations indicated that the cables were allegedly brought to Adamu's residence for safekeeping.

Two other individuals, identified as Sani Auwalu from Ruba Village in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, are currently being sought as part of a larger security operation aimed at tracking down and bringing all suspects to justice. The NSCDC has warned individuals involved in vandalism of critical national infrastructure to desist from such illegal activities, emphasizing the serious threat they pose to economic development and public safety.
