NSCDC Arrests Six Suspected Railway Vandalizers in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command announced the arrest of six individuals suspected of vandalizing railway infrastructure in Kiru Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Sulaiman Salisu (45), Musa Aliyu Harisu (22), Ishaq Alhassan (20), Isa Aminu (35), Sadiq Bala (20), and Mansur Idri (22), were apprehended during a surveillance operation based on credible intelligence.

They were caught in the act of tampering with railway infrastructure, which constitutes economic sabotage and poses a serious threat to public safety. Items recovered from the suspects included 60 railway sleepers, tools used for their illegal activities, a 50kg gas cylinder, a 5kg gas cylinder, and a 20-meter hose.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects intended to sell the materials for personal gain. The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to protecting critical national assets and warned that any attempts to vandalize government property would result in decisive legal action once investigations are complete.
