NSCDC Arrests Suspect in N3m Online Car Fraud Case

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested Momoh Rabiu in connection with an online car fraud case involving N3,005,000. The arrest was disclosed by the state command's spokesperson, Mr.

Saidi Akintayo, during a news conference in Benin on February 3. The case began when Olanrewaju Nurudeen Aduwawa attempted to purchase a 2010 Toyota Corolla through a U.S.-based car auction website.

Unknowingly, he transferred the funds to an Access Bank account belonging to Oluwafunmilayo Olubod, which was allegedly compromised by the fraudster. Following the complaint, the NSCDC's investigative team tracked down the suspect, obtaining a court order to access account details linked to the transaction.

Rabiu, who resides in Auchi, Edo State, confessed to receiving N277,000 as part of the fraudulent proceeds. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged in court.
