NSCDC Arrests Mustapha Sani for Fake Fertilizer in Zamfara

On Wednesday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command arrested Mustapha Sani, 33, for allegedly engaging in the unlawful manufacture and distribution of counterfeit fertilizer. The operation took place in the Unguwar Dallatu area, opposite the investment house in Gusau.

Asci Umar Mohammad, the head of public relations for the command, reported that Sani was found in possession of 550 bags of the counterfeit fertilizer. Sani claimed ownership of the consignment, describing himself as a major stakeholder in the fertilizer business.

During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the involvement of two accomplices, Alhaji Sabo and Abdurrahman Ibrahim, who are currently engaged in a large illegal product distribution network. The NSCDC accused Sani of criminal conspiracy, unlawfully manufacturing and blending fertilizer, and possessing counterfeit bags with false labels intended to defraud local farmers across Zamfara State.

The command aims to reduce criminal activities that undermine the state's agricultural economy.
