NSCDC Deploys 10,000 Personnel for Ekiti Election Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 10,000 personnel across Ekiti State in preparation for the upcoming governorship election. This deployment is aimed at ensuring a peaceful, credible, and violence-free electoral process.

The statement, signed by Babawal Afolabi, the Commandant of the NSCDC, highlighted that personnel are drawn from several state commands, including Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Kwara, Edo, Ogun, and Kogi, alongside special operational reinforcements from Zone 11 and Zone 6. The Commandant General has directed the immediate deployment of elite tactical units, including the Special Intelligence Squad, Special Weapons and Tactics Unit, Special Female Squad, Mine Marshal, Special Forces Crack Squad, and K9 Unit, to neutralize potential security threats.

Ayuba Phillip, the Deputy Commandant General in charge of operations, will lead the security exercise in the state. The NSCDC emphasizes its commitment to protecting the electoral process and maintaining law and order, urging residents to participate peacefully and report any suspicious activities.
