NSCDC Deploys 1,300 Personnel for Edo LG Elections

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Edo State Command has announced the deployment of 1,300 personnel across three senatorial districts in preparation for the local government elections set for Saturday, July 11, 2026. Ogbebor Efosa, the spokesman for the NSCDC Edo State Command, stated that the agency is ready to protect lives, property, and critical national assets during the elections.

Akintayo Ayinla, also from the NSCDC, assured the people of Edo State that the command is fully prepared to fulfill its constitutional mandate of providing a secure environment for a peaceful electoral process. The NSCDC called on political parties, candidates, and stakeholders to adhere to electoral laws and conduct themselves peacefully throughout the electoral exercise.

The agency emphasized its commitment to working in synergy with security agencies to ensure that the local government elections are free, fair, credible, and peaceful across Edo State, encouraging eligible voters to participate without fear.
