NSCDC Deploys 1,542 Personnel for Eid al-Kabir Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 1,542 personnel throughout Edo State to maintain security during the Eid al-Kabir celebrations in 2026. This announcement was made by Saidi Akintayo, the Edo State Commandant of NSCDC, during a press briefing on Friday in Benin City.

The deployment follows directives from the NSCDC Command General, Ahm Audi, to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the state's three senatorial districts. Personnel have been strategically positioned at various locations, including Eid prayer grounds, marketplaces, recreational centers, highways, motor parks, and other vulnerable areas.

Akintayo emphasized the need for intensified patrols, surveillance, and intelligence gathering to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the festive period. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

The NSCDC commended Governor Mondai Okpebholo for supporting security operations in the state and stressed the importance of maintaining peace during the celebrations.
