NSCDC Dismantles Illegal Arms Factory in Katsina

On Thursday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully dismantled an illegal arms factory located in Kore Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area, Katsina State. The operation, carried out at 10:00 AM, followed credible intelligence received by the command.

Four suspects were arrested: Haruna Lawal (28 years), Badamasi Kabiru (50 years), Hamza Lawal (30 years), and Sagir Abba (25 years). The NSCDC's statement detailed the recovery of several firearms, including eight locally made skeleton rifles, five locally made pistols, and various magazines.

Additionally, the operation seized tools such as a carbide saw, hammers, spanners, a grinder, and two motorcycles. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing investigation to uncover potential syndicate members and buyers of the fabricated weapons.

The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to combat illegal arms proliferation and criminal activities, including vandalism and economic sabotage.
