NSCDC Dismantles Illegal Arms Factory in Katsina

On Thursday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) conducted a successful operation in Katsina State, dismantling an illegal arms factory located in Kore Village, Batagarawa Local Government Area. Following credible intelligence, the NSCDC's special rapid response squad raided the facility at approximately 10:00 AM, resulting in the arrest of four suspects: Haruna Lawal (28 years), Badamasi Kabiru (50 years), Hamza Lawal (30 years), and Sagir Abba (25 years).

During the operation, the NSCDC recovered a significant cache of weapons, including eight locally made skeletal rifles, five locally made pistol grips, four local magazines, and various tools such as a carbide, a hurk saw, three hammers, a spanner, a handsaw, a grinder, and two gas cylinders. Additionally, two motorcycles were seized.

The suspects are currently undergoing investigation to uncover potential members of the syndicate and possible buyers of the fabricated weapons. The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to combat illegal arms proliferation and related criminal activities.
