NSCDC Foils Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping and cattle rustling incident in Bakin Komau, Dangora area of Kiru Local Government Area on Thursday. Armed assailants attacked a shepherd, inflicting serious injuries and abducting two children.

Upon receiving a distress report, NSCDC personnel stationed near Dansoshiya Forest swiftly mobilized to the scene, engaging the criminals in a gun duel. The assailants abandoned the kidnapped children and fled into the forest.

Two individuals, Abubakar Saleh, 36, and Muhammad Inuwa Dill, 30, were rescued, while the injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, received immediate medical assistance. The NSCDC personnel were deployed to provide security coverage for ongoing dam construction projects and to safeguard grazing reserves and farms against criminal activities.
