Upon receiving a distress report, NSCDC personnel stationed near Dansoshiya Forest swiftly mobilized to the scene, engaging the criminals in a gun duel. The assailants abandoned the kidnapped children and fled into the forest.

Two individuals, Abubakar Saleh, 36, and Muhammad Inuwa Dill, 30, were rescued, while the injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, received immediate medical assistance. The NSCDC personnel were deployed to provide security coverage for ongoing dam construction projects and to safeguard grazing reserves and farms against criminal activities.
