NSCDC Officer Killed by Patrol Van During Training Drill

A tragic incident occurred at a training ground where an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was crushed to death by a patrol van during a routine drill. The event, which was part of a coordinated exercise, was captured in a video that circulated on social media, showing the moment the officer was knocked down as the vehicle made a turn.

Following the incident, the driver halted the vehicle, and colleagues rushed to the scene to assist. Emergency responders arrived to evacuate the officer, but he was confirmed deceased.

Afolabi Babawal, the spokesperson for the NSCDC, expressed condolences and confirmed the loss of personnel during the simulation exercise. He stated that the corps would commence internal procedures in response to the incident and would provide further details, although the identity of the deceased officer has not been officially disclosed at this time.
