NSCDC Female Officer Dies After Being Crushed by Van

A tragic incident occurred in Abuja, where a female officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was killed after being crushed by an operational van. The event took place during a display of the female strike force, known as the female squad, in the Federal Capital Territory.

A 58-second video that circulated on social media captured the moment when a black operational van, marked with red wheels and inscribed with "female squad," turned and ran over the officer, pinning her underneath. Bystanders, including several NSCDC officers, rushed to the scene to lift the van in an attempt to rescue the trapped victim while waiting for an ambulance.

Afolabi Babawal, the NSCDC spokesperson, confirmed the officer's death in a telephone call on Saturday afternoon but did not disclose the identity of the deceased officer. As of the time of the report, the NSCDC had not issued a formal press release regarding the incident.
