NSCDC Trains Private Security Operators in Lagos

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, organized a one-day capacity-building workshop for licensed private security operators on intelligence gathering, digital operations, and inter-agency collaboration. The event took place at the NUT Pavilion, Alausa, Ikeja, with attendance from supervisors, operators, field officers, and guards from various private security companies.

NSCDC Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, stated that the training is part of the Corps' responsibility to conduct regular capacity-building programs for Private Guard Companies (PGCs).

He emphasized the importance of private security operators in safeguarding lives and property, especially in Lagos, which has the highest concentration of licensed private security companies in Nigeria. The workshop's theme was “Coordinating Guard Operations Through Intelligence and Digitization.” Keynote speakers included Dr.

Funto Akhimien, who stressed the need for collaboration among security agencies, and Professor Waziri Adisa, who discussed the legal framework governing private security operations. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to participants.
