NSCDC Graduates 260 Private Security Officers in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, graduated 260 private security operatives from 40 companies following a five-day refresher training program held from August 10 to 14 at the newly inaugurated FCT Command Training Ground in Abuja. FCT Commandant Dr Olusola Odumosu stated that the training aimed to equip private security personnel with essential skills to operate effectively in a complex and technology-driven security environment.

He emphasized the importance of private security operatives in identifying threats, managing access, and collaborating with government security agencies. Odumosu urged graduates to remain vigilant, as their professional judgment is crucial to the security architecture of the Federal Capital Territory, which hosts critical national assets.

He called for stronger public-private security partnerships and highlighted the need for private security companies to prioritize the welfare and continuous training of their personnel. Chief Lucky Ojealaro, Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, commended the NSCDC for promoting standards in the private security sector.
