NSIB and NCAA Enhance Support for Air Crash Victims

The Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have initiated discussions to strengthen support for families of aircraft accident victims. This collaboration aims to align Nigeria's emergency response framework with international aviation standards.

The meeting occurred in Abuja, involving the National Family Assistance Committee, coordinated by NSIB, and NCAA officials. The NSIB delegation was led by Funke Arowojobe, while Michael Achimugu headed the NCAA team.

Arowojobe emphasized the importance of Family Assistance in transportation safety management, which includes providing timely information and essential services to victims' families. Achimugu expressed NCAA's commitment to collaborate with NSIB, highlighting the need for continuous training of personnel to ensure effective implementation of Family Assistance programs.

Both agencies identified areas for collaboration, including joint capacity-building programs and stakeholder sensitization to enhance support mechanisms within Nigeria's aviation sector.
