NSIB and Sierra Leone Sign Aviation Safety Agreement

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and the Sierra Leone Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have reached an agreement to enhance cooperation in data sharing and capacity building. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed at the NSIB headquarters in Abuja, with members of the management team present.

This partnership aims to improve aviation safety outcomes through joint investigations and the exchange of expertise. The agreement includes provisions for training programs, sharing safety data, and technical knowledge, as well as access to investigative equipment.

Captain Alex Badeh Jr., the Director General of NSIB, emphasized the commitment to maintaining high standards of aviation safety investigations across West Africa. The partnership is designed to create a clear pathway for deeper cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone, reinforcing the organizations' commitment to uphold international civil aviation standards as outlined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Chicago Convention.
