NSITF to Host ISSA West Africa Seminar in Abuja 2026

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), represented by Managing Director Barr Oluwaseun Faley, has pledged to host the ISSA West Africa Technical Seminar in Abuja from April 22-23, 2026. This seminar aims to enhance social protection systems across West Africa, focusing on improving access to social security services.

Faley emphasized Nigeria's significant progress in strengthening its social security architecture, particularly in employee compensation schemes and workplace injury coverage. He noted the importance of expanding coverage and simplifying access for workers.

The seminar will gather stakeholders, including social security institutions, policymakers, and worker representatives, to discuss strategies for improving service delivery and strengthening institutional collaboration. The event is timely, as many workers, especially in the informal sector, remain outside formal social security coverage.

The NSITF aims to foster peer learning and collaboration to adapt solutions to the region's unique challenges.
