NUPENG Suspends Nationwide Strike After Agreement with Dangote Group

NUPENG has suspended its nationwide strike after reaching an agreement with Dangote Group. The strike was called off following a meeting involving the Department of State Services (DSS), Ministers of Labour and Finance, and the Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

The suspension was confirmed by NUPENG's National President, Williams Akporeha, who stated that Dangote's refinery team agreed to unionize their drivers. The strike was initially declared due to allegations that Dangote refinery planned to ban drivers from joining the union.

Despite the suspension, NUPENG emphasized the need for full compliance with the directive to lift fuel.
