NUPRC Supplies 53.7M Barrels to Local Refiners in Q2 2026

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) announced that a total of 53.7 million barrels of crude oil and condensate were supplied to local refiners from April to June 2026, reflecting a performance rate of 97.4% under the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation (DCSO). This obligation is governed by Section 109 of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

Monthly allocations were made to producers, with April seeing an allocation of 18,127,638 barrels, where producers exceeded expectations by offering 19,312,476 barrels, resulting in a supply of 20,879,381 barrels. In May, producers offered 23,187,893 barrels against an allocation of 18,778,392 barrels, but actual supply was only 14,228,865 barrels, representing 75.8% compliance.

June's allocation was 18,172,638 barrels, with producers offering 26,835,119 barrels and supplying 18,606,026 barrels, achieving 102.4% performance. The Dangote Refinery required 63 million barrels in Q2 but received 68.1 million barrels from producers, accepting 52.6 million barrels, which is 78% of what was offered.

The NUPRC reaffirmed its commitment to energy sufficiency and aims to sustain gains in crude oil production.
