NUPRC Reports Domestic Gas Delivery at 2.05 Bcf Daily

Mrs Oritsemeyewa Eyesan, the Commission Chief Executive (CCE) of the NUPRC, reported that Nigeria's average Domestic Gas Delivery Obligations (DGDO) performance increased to 2.05 billion cubic feet (Bcf) daily as of June 2026. This announcement was made during a stakeholders’ workshop in Abuja focused on the Gas Swap Framework for DGDO.

The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of the framework, which is designed to facilitate compliance with DGDO and gather stakeholder input. Eyesan indicated that while 27 out of 63 producing companies were allocated DGDO, only 23 were actively supplying gas to domestic customers.

The performance showed a 65 percent compliance rate against a DGDO allocation of 3.16 Bcf/d. She emphasized the need for innovative solutions to bridge the delivery gap and highlighted the importance of the Gas Swap Framework, which allows operators with stranded gas to meet their obligations by collaborating with those who have the necessary infrastructure for delivery.
