Nigeria's Domestic Gas Delivery Hits 2.05 Bcf Daily

As of June 2026, Nigeria's average Domestic Gas Delivery Obligations (DGDO) performance rose to 2.05 billion cubic feet (Bcf) daily, as reported by Mrs. Oritsemeyewa Eyesan, the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

This announcement was made during a stakeholders’ workshop on the Gas Swap Framework for DGDO held in Abuja. The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of the framework, which is designed to support compliance with DGDO and gather stakeholder input.

Mrs. Eyesan, represented by Engineer Enorense Amadasu, the Executive Commissioner for Development and Production, noted that out of 63 producing companies, 27 were allocated DGDO, with only 23 actively supplying gas to domestic customers.

The average domestic gas delivery was 2.05 Bcf/d against a DGDO allocation of 3.16 Bcf/d, indicating a performance rate of about 65%. She emphasized the need for innovative solutions to bridge the delivery gap and highlighted the importance of the Gas Swap Framework in facilitating gas delivery to domestic users.
