NURTW Crisis: Baruwa Seeks Tinubu's Intervention

Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa, the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has publicly called for the intervention of President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and civil society organizations (CSOs) in the ongoing crisis within the union. Baruwa condemned the actions of security agencies that have allegedly attempted to overturn a valid court judgment, which he claims conferred legitimacy to his position.

He expressed concern over the judiciary's integrity, stating that the refusal to uphold the court's decision undermines the constitution and the rule of law. Baruwa urged President Tinubu to direct the Inspector General of Police to arrest those illegally occupying the NURTW national office and restore his rightful position as affirmed by the court.

He emphasized that the union would explore all legal avenues to ensure the sanctity of the court's ruling is maintained.
