Stanlei Nwabali Considers Move to Kaizer Chiefs

Stanlei Nwabali, a 29-year-old goalkeeper, is weighing his options for a potential move this summer, with Kaizer Chiefs among the clubs interested in securing his services. Nwabali, who has risen from relative obscurity to become Nigeria's undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, left Chippa United in February 2026.

His former teammate at Moroka Swallows, Petersid Idah, expressed support for a potential transfer to Kaizer Chiefs, highlighting the financial packages that South African clubs can offer. Nwabali's salary demands could influence his departure from Chippa United, but Idah believes that Kaizer Chiefs can meet those expectations.

The club, known as the "Glamour Boys," has intensified its interest following Nwabali's impressive performances during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where he helped the Super Eagles reach the final.
