Nigerian Governors and Ex-Minister Address Skills Gap and Industry Collapse in North West Region

Governor Sani proposed establishing the North West Development Commission to drive policy alignment and investment mobilization. Governor Yusuf of Kano described the region's situation as driven by insecurity and a decaying education sector.

Pantami warned of the urgent need to reverse the decline, emphasizing the importance of vocational education and a dual education system. The leaders proposed solutions like creating an education transformation body and enhancing security collaboration.

They noted the risk posed by the crisis in the education system to the region's future stability and competitiveness.
