NWFL Fines Osun Babes FC 2.5 Million Naira for Violations

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has imposed a fine of 2.5 million naira on Osun Babes FC due to a breach of its regulatory framework. This sanction arose from the club's failure to provide an alternate jersey for their away match against FC Robo Queen, scheduled for February 18, 2026, at Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

The match officials declared a walkover in favor of FC Robo Queen after Osun Babes did not comply with the league's requirements regarding jersey colors, specifically Article 10, which mandates that the away team must wear an alternate color in the event of a color clash. Additionally, Osun Babes was fined 1 million naira for the jersey violation and 1.5 million naira for failing to fulfill the fixture, as stipulated in Article 14.

Modup Shabi, the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the league's commitment to maintaining professional standards and the importance of clubs adhering to league rules to avoid future sanctions.
