Army Depot in Amasiri Edda Enhances National Security

On a recent visit by Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Ebonyi State Governor Franci Ogbonna Nwifuru described the establishment of a Nigerian Army depot in Amasiri Edda as a significant strategic boost to national security. Nwifuru emphasized that the depot will strengthen the region's stability, enhance military capacity, and stimulate socio-economic development in the Southeast.

This depot is the first of its kind in the Southeast geopolitical zone, directly under the command of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Lieutenant General Shaibu noted that the depot is a critical asset for training disciplined and combat-ready soldiers capable of addressing evolving security challenges.

The governor praised the Nigerian Army's role in maintaining peace and security in Ebonyi State and expressed confidence that the depot will bolster the army's manpower base, enhance local economic activities, and promote national unity. Nwifuru reaffirmed the state government's commitment to a strong relationship with the Nigerian Army.
