NYSC and NANS Enhance Partnership for Youth Development

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have committed to deepening their collaboration to improve mobilization and advance youth development initiatives throughout Nigeria. This agreement was made during a courtesy visit by NANS members to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja, where Brig Gen Olakunle Nafiu, the NYSC Director General, assured the student body of continued cooperation.

He emphasized that the NYSC's core mandate of promoting national unity cannot be achieved without the support of Nigerian students. Nafiu highlighted the importance of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs that complement the federal government's efforts to reduce unemployment and encourage self-reliance among youth.

He urged NANS to remain actively involved in promoting democracy and contributing meaningfully to national development. Additionally, Comrade Mose Ikeabuchi, the NANS Senate President, visited to strengthen relations with the new NYSC leadership and explore areas of collaboration, particularly in mobilization efforts.
