NYSC Denies Allegations of Election Manipulation in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) issued a statement on Thursday, dismissing allegations that corps members are being offered ₦50,000 to sway the upcoming Osun State governorship election. The statement, signed by Public Relations Officer Catherine Otemuyiwa on behalf of State Coordinator Mr.

Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, described the claims as false and misleading, lacking any factual basis. The NYSC emphasized its non-partisan role in promoting national unity and service, asserting that it has never authorized any payments for political manipulation.

The organization reminded corps members of their responsibilities to remain neutral and comply with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines. The NYSC is also collaborating with security agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of corps members during the election.

The agency urged the public and media to verify information before dissemination to avoid undermining public confidence in the electoral process.
