Osun Youth Group Demands EFCC Probe Over Corps Payments

The Osun Youth Coalition for Credible Elections, a non-partisan civil society organization, has alerted authorities about alleged attempts to compromise members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election. The coalition, led by Convener Adeola Oyewunmi, claims to have credible information that a prominent individual in the state is collecting bank account details of corps members to transfer N50,000 to them before the election.

Some corps members reportedly have already begun receiving these payments, which the coalition describes as a calculated effort to manipulate the electoral process. The organization asserts that such payments just days before a major election amount to election rigging and an attempt to buy the conscience of young Nigerians serving as polling officials.

The coalition has called on the EFCC, Nigeria Police Force, DSS, INEC, and other relevant agencies to investigate these allegations to maintain public confidence in the electoral process.
