Oando PLC Lands Gas Supply Contract for 60MW Bayelsa IPP

Oando PLC has disclosed that its upstream Joint Venture with NNPC E&P Limited — the NEPL/Oando JV — is the exclusive gas supplier to a new 60-megawatt Independent Power Plant in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, commissioned on April 10, 2026. The JV supplies 11.2 million standard cubic feet per day through the Elebele Valve Station, backed by a long-term gas supply arrangement.

This reveals two important things about the business. First, Oando is successfully converting its upstream gas assets into predictable, contracted revenue rather than relying solely on volatile crude-linked income.

Second, the company's execution of both the engineering design and technical commissioning support signals genuine vertical integration — not just a supply contract. The project adds to an existing portfolio that includes the Okpai, Akute, and Alausa power projects, suggesting a deliberate strategy to scale embedded generation partnerships across Nigeria.
